Arrival at Al-Aqsa Mosque

 

This holiest site is located in Jerusalem. Upon arriving, he was greeted by a group of prophets who had passed away before him.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) led these prophets in prayer as they stood together in the congregation.

After completing his prayers, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was then taken on an even more extraordinary journey – The Ascension or Miraj – where he was able to visit all seven heavens and speak directly with Allah himself.

The arrival at Al-Aqsa Mosque holds great significance for Muslims around the world and is often celebrated during religious holidays such as Isra and Mi’raj.

 

The Ascension – Miraj

The Ascension – Miraj is a miraculous journey undertaken by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that holds immense significance in Islamic history. This divine journey began with the help of Angel Jibrael, who took the Prophet from Mecca to Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Buraq, a mystical creature.

From there, Prophet Muhammad ascended to Heaven and visited all seven levels of it. He met different prophets and saw their dwellings at each level. And then he reached Sidrat al-Muntaha where he encountered Allah himself.

During this encounter, Allah gave him several instructions and made some revelations regarding prayer timings for Muslims. The conversation between Allah and  Hazrat Muhammad is one of the most important parts of this journey.

After meeting with Allah, Prophet Muhammad descended back to Earth through the same path he had taken during his ascent. This journey was witnessed by a few individuals including Abu Bakr Siddiq, who later became known as “As-Siddiq” due to his unwavering belief in what happened.

The Ascension – Miraj is an event that Muslims hold dear because it symbolizes how close we are to God if we adhere to Islam’s teachings.

 

Visit of all Heavens

 

After arriving at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Hazrat  Muhammad (PBUH) was taken on a journey to visit all the heavens. This journey is known as Miraj in Islamic tradition. It’s said that he traveled with an animal-like creature named Buraq and visited several places throughout this journey.

During his ascent through the heavens, Prophet Muhammad met various prophets including Adam, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. He also saw many miraculous things like angels with wings filling up the sky and celestial rivers flowing through each heaven.

As he ascended further into the heavens, it is believed that Prophet Muhammad met other heavenly beings who welcomed him with open arms. The beauty of paradise was unveiled to him with its gardens full of fragrant flowers and sweet fruits.

It was during this time that Allah bestowed upon him important aspects of Islam such as Salah or prayer which Muslims perform five times a day. The importance of unity within the Muslim community was also emphasized.

The Lote Tree and Sidrat al-Muntaha

 

After visiting all the heavens, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) finally reached a place where no other being had ever gone before. This was the Lote Tree, also known as Sidrat al-Muntaha or what is often called “the farthest lote tree.” It was here that Jibril left him and he proceeded alone to meet his Lord.

The tree’s significance lies in its location – it is situated at the end of knowledge and thought. No creature can go beyond this point without divine guidance and permission. The branches of the tree are so vast that they extend beyond the seven heavens, which were previously visited by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Sidrat al-Muntaha marks a significant spiritual milestone in Islamic history because it symbolizes our inability to comprehend God’s greatness fully. It reminds us that we will never be able to understand Allah completely since our mortal minds are limited.

However, despite this limitation, we must continue seeking knowledge about Islam diligently. We should always strive towards better understanding Allah’s message and fulfilling His commands.

Sidrat al-Muntaha serves as an inspiration for Muslims to keep striving toward spiritual enlightenment while simultaneously reminding us of our human limitations when trying to comprehend Allah’s infinite wisdom.

 

Conversation with Allah

 

After visiting all the heavens and receiving guidance from different prophets, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) finally arrived at a place where he spoke directly with Allah. This conversation is known as “Munajat” or intimate conversation in Islamic tradition.

Allah revealed many things to the Prophet during this conversation, including instructions for prayer and other aspects of Islam. The Prophet was also given the gift of seeing certain events that would happen in the future.

The conversation with Allah was an incredibly humbling experience for the Prophet.

This conversation shows us how close we can be to Allah through prayer and devotion.

Return to Earth

 

After visiting all heavens, Hazrat  Muhammad (PBUH) returned to Earth with renewed purpose and faith. It was reported that he felt he had only been gone for a few seconds, despite his trip spanning several years.

Upon returning, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) shared his miraculous experience with his companions and followers.

The Night Journey and Ascension served as a testament to Allah’s power and presence in the world. It also revealed new revelations about prayer, including the mandatory five daily prayers that Muslims still practice today.

 The story is often retold during Islamic gatherings and celebrations as a reminder of Allah’s infinite mercy and blessings upon humanity.
